Dove shares the same caring and optimistic values as the NBCF with a fundamental commitment to make a difference to, and improve women's health and wellbeing. One in 8 women in Australia will be diagnosed with breast cancer by age 85, and this statistic can only be reduced through research into prevention and cure by the NBCF. Dove is proud to be able to support their ongoing and positive work.
The Dove Pink partnership with the NBCF is not only being amplified in-store with the pink packaging and NBCF logo recognition, but is also being supported via print media executions in women's magazines and a dedicated PR campaign.
Dove Pink will also be supported on radio and online as part of the existing My Dove website experience and in the Dove Pink Star Walk to be held on the 6th October 2007.
The Dove Pink Star Walk is a walk for men, women and children of all ages and fitness levels through the Sydney CBD at night in support of the NBCF.
The event will take place on Saturday 6th October 2007 from 8pm.
Last year Dove donated $150,000 to the NBCF through various Dove Pink activities and this year we aim to donate even more so help us by purchasing the pink range of Dove beauty products, register for the Dove Pink Star Walk or donate directly via this site.
The Dove Pink Star Walk will be a fun and unique 5km stroll through the Sydney CBD at night, starting at the Royal Botanic Gardens and winding round a beautiful scenic route past the Sydney Opera House, through Circular Quay, and finishing at the dazzling Darling Harbour.
The Dove Pink Star Walk commences at 8pm and you should complete the route by 10pm at the latest. We suggest you arrive before this time in order to prepare yourself for the walk and join in on pre-event festivities. The walk is a leisurely stroll and there will be no rush in completing the event - the route will be manned and lit until the last participant has finished. The route starts at the beautiful Royal Botanic Gardens and finishes at Darling Harbour. There will also be St Johns first aid personnel to assist walkers along the route.
All participants are encouraged to “get their bras under the stars” for the breast cancer cause through decorating a pink bra and wearing it on the evening (or on top of clothing is okay too!). Suggestions on how you can decorate your bra are included in your event registration pack. As well as the decorated bra, participants are encouraged to get into the Dove Pink theme and wear pink clothing and accessories. There will be prizes awarded on the night for the best decorated bras and costumes and for those adopting the pink spirit. We also recommend you wear comfortable shoes that are suitable for walking the 5km distance.
Yes, but we do advise that food and wrappers are kept to a minimum to control rubbish. Mt Franklin Water will also be provided on the night along the route and will be available free of charge for every participant. As the walk does not commence until 8pm, there is plenty of time to eat dinner beforehand - we recommend that you have a light carbohydrate based meal in order to ensure you have energy to complete the walk.
To enter all you have to do is fill in the online entry form and then pay the registration fee, which starts at $25 per person plus a $1.50 postage and handling fee (different fees apply for adults, children, concessions etc.) Once registered, you will receive an event pack containing all the information that you will need for the event, as well as your race identification number, course map, and of course - tips on how to decorate your bra!

Dove Pink Beauty Bar: The soft pink packaged and coloured Dove Pink Beauty Bar is a specially formulated cleanser containing 1/4 moisturising cream. It helps skin retain its natural moisture, bringing out its softness and true beauty without leaving skin dry like soaps can. Dove Pink Beauty Bar is pH neutral and suitable for all skin types, including sensitive skin.
Dove Pink Body Wash: Dove Pink Body Wash is mild and soap-free and will leave your skin feeling soft and smooth. Indulge yourself with Dove's pure ¼ moisturising cream and floral, sweet fragrance for a relaxing shower experience.
Dove Deodorants: Dove Pink Deodorants contain the most effective anti-perspirant ingredients to give you maximum dry protection all day long, whilst the 1/4 moisturising cream takes care of your skin. The new, soft, pink floral fragrance provides a fresh and feminine scent. All Dove Deodorants are alcohol free and dermatologically tested.
You will still be able to purchase Dove Beauty Bar and Dove Deodorants in their current format and fragrances, as well as the new pink versions. We of course hope that consumers will enjoy the Dove Pink products and purchase them during the promotional period in aid of NBCF.
